The Grand Pavilion, Matlock Bath, Derbyshire

Saturday 3rd May 2014, 7.30pm

New Georgian Opera is delighted to present an evening of Opera's most loved and spectacular hits in aid of The Grand Pavilion Matlock Bath and The Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust. Featuring lyric spinto soprano Meeta Raval, countertenor Oliver Gerrish, tenor John Pierce and pianist Kelvin Lim.

The Grand Pavilion Matlock Bath is an historic concert hall being rescued by the local community, who are aiming to restore it as a leading performance venue for the Midlands. The building is already open and operating successfully as a live music venue, and whilst 'a little bit scruffy' visitors can appreciate the vast potential of this Edwardian pleasure palace.

The Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust was established as a charity to protect and care for neglected historic buildings, in and around the county of Derbyshire. The charity helps to save buildings that would be in danger of decay or demolition, and it works for the modernisation of these buildings without damage to their essential character.

Meeta and Oliver feel that the plight of The Grand Pavilion and the ethos of the DHBT were ideal and worth drawing much attention to. We know that your support and presence at this grand opera gala will help raise funds and awareness for these two charities.

We look forward to seeing you at this prestigious event.
